Under 23 World Championships [Updated Daily]

A-Finals: Saturday 30th July (Women’s 8)

Chief Women’s Coach Patrick Ryan will lead the GB women’s U23 8 in their charge for victory at 4.47 pm

A-Finals: Friday 29th July (Men’s Pair)

Racing against a stacked field, Ollie Parish and Luca Ferraro had their best race of the week, just a few seconds off a medal. Luca and Ollie will be leaders in CUBC’s campaign to re-take the Men’s Boat Race Trophy on Sunday March 26th.

Semi-Finals: Thursday 28th July

Ollie and Luca’s races continue to improve this week, demonstrating a mature approach to racing. Moving from 5th at the first split, they drew ahead of Croatia by the 1k to be in 3rd, duelling with them until 500 to go, when they moved away to record their fastest 500 of the race, and secure their place in Saturday’s A-Final.

Repechages : Wednesday 27th July

A big step up today for the boys, securing their A/B semi final position. Placed 3rd 500 in, they moved past the fast-starting Hungarian pair and reduced their margin to the Greek pair who led them by 4 seconds at the first split.

Heats: Tuesday 26th July

A tough heat for Ollie and Luca today. They pulled themselves up from 6th 500 metres into the race, but were unable to break into the top 2 position needed to go directly to the A/B semis. In a close race for positions 3 onwards, they placed 5th and will need to place in the top 2 in tomorrow’s repechage to progress to the A/B Semis.

No such concerns for the GB U23 Women’s 8 coached by CUBC Women’s Chief Coach Paddy Ryan. 4 seconds ahead of Romania 500 metres into the race, they were never headed and will go straight to Saturday’s A-Final.
