Cambridge University Boat Club has made huge strides forward over the last decade – moving the Women’s Boat Race to Tideway, followed by the Lightweight Men and Women; developing our squads and coaching team, and building the new joint boathouse in Ely.

From the early years when student athletes largely funded themselves, the club has developed effective and rewarding partnerships with sponsors. We have also received financial and other support from the university. But corporate sponsorship is decreasing across the sporting landscape, and for a sustainable long-term future, we need to reduce our reliance on it.

Preparing six race-ready crews, ensuring they have the right equipment and support to train and to race, comes at a substantial cost each year. We also run an extensive development programme in which college rowers participate. Your gift to CUBC will enable young men and women to reach their sporting potential as part of a high performance team. You will be investing in the future, changing the experiences of young people on and off the water. Our aim is to build a strong financial base, ensuring cost is no barrier for a student athlete competing for a place in a Boat Race crew.

One-off gifts large or small, or regular giving, all support is welcome.

Leaving a Legacy

“A decision to leave a legacy for Cambridge University Boat Club will have a lasting impact: it recognises the part that the Club has played in your life and the role that you can play in our future.”
Nick Bliss, Chair, The CUBC Foundation
