In memoriam: James Cowderoy (G. 1981)

CUBC is sad to inform its members of the death of James Cowderoy, cox of the 1981 Goldie Crew.

Coming up from King’s Canterbury in 1978 to read history, he quickly immersed himself in Cambridge rowing, coxing for Jesus and concluding his Cambridge time coxing Goldie in a year where 5 Jesuans represented the University across Men’s Blue Boat, Goldie, and Blondie.

Cowderoy went on further study at Stanford, and a successful career in shipbroking and management consulting, retiring to Scotland where he established the Loch Ard Rowing Club, frequently used for Jesus’s camps.

CUBC’s sympathies are with his widow, Iona, and his children and friends.
