2015 Blue Boat athletes Melissa Wilson and Holly Hill, finished their season with a Bronze medal at the World U23 Rowing Championships at Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Melissa says:
“Our racing at the U23 World Championships came as the culmination of a very rewarding season together in the CUWBC Blue Boat and GB U23 4-. Facing very competitive crews from the USA and Canada in our heat (who went on to win Gold and Silver medals in our Final) led us to race the Repechage the following day, which we won ahead of New Zealand. Our final was a close race, where we prioritised a quick start and then tried to maintain our place in the pack down the course, flanked by Australia and New Zealand (in temperatures nearing 50 degrees!). It was enormously exciting to race in a smaller crew, and we’re really looking forward to pushing on from our Bronze Medal in the future.”
