Cambridge will once again be the most represented University at the Women’s Eights Head of the River Race this Saturday, with 25 crews racing. 3 of these crews will be representing Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club, the remainder from the various College Boat Clubs.
The 2 CUWBC crews selected for the forthcoming Cancer Research UK Boat Race will test their form ahead of the 24th March. The Club will also boat a 3rd 8 consisting of the openweight spares plus members of the CUWBC Development Squad who have been training with the College Boat Clubs and also alongside the CUWBC Squad.
The Women’s Eights Head is the largest women’s rowing race in the world with 319 eights set to take part. The Race is held over the reverse of the Boat Race course. CUWBC has won the University Pennant as the fastest student crew for the last 3 years.
Meanwhile, CUWBC Alumni will be out in force representing various Clubs including Cantabrigian RC, Tideway Scullers School, Royal Air Force RC and Army RC.
