CUBC athletes at GB Rowing Final Trials

CUBC is proud to recognise its five current student members invited to GB Rowing Final Trials to be held at Caversham on the 13th and 14th of April.

Led by President Hugo Ramabason (Trinity), the Cambridge quintet includes both bow and stern pairs of this year’s victorious Blue Boat. Stern pair Freddie Davidson (Emmanuel) and Rob Hurn (St. Edmund’s) are racing in a pair that sees roles reversed, with Hurn taking over stroking duties. Bow pair Charlie Fisher (St. John’s) and Patrick Elwood (Magdalene) were invited based on strong performances at the previous long distance trial at Boston, Lincolnshire.

Both crews are looking to cap off a successful year with National Team selection. Both Davidson and Hurn are former GB Under 23 representatives, whilst Fisher is a former junior representative and Elwood seeks to earn his first GB vest.

We wish them all the best for trialling and continued academic success.
