Five CUBC alumni and student-athletes represented their countries at the 2026 European Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy, producing a series of impressive performances on the international stage.
For Germany, 2026 Blue Freddy Breuer stroked the Men’s Eight to a silver medal, finishing behind a dominant Romanian crew. Fellow German and 2026 Goldie rower Leonard Brahms also claimed silver in the Mixed Eight and went on to secure second place in the Men’s Pair B Final.
Representing Great Britain, Olympic champion and CUBC alumna Imogen Grant helped the Women’s Quad to a fourth-place finish. Germany’s Jan Helmich also placed fourth in the Para Mixed Four, while 2026 Blue Antonia Galland raced in the three seat of the German Women’s Eight, which also finished fourth.
