
Cambridge University Boat Club expresses its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Noel Casey upon his passing.

Noel passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 23rd surrounded by his loving family.
He was predeceased by his wife Rose and sadly missed by his loving family: daughters Bernie (Carroll) and Caroline, son-in-law Noel, his grandchildren Victoria, Jack, Luke, Alice and Oliver, great-grandchildren Calvin, Josie and Eliza, brother Pat, nephews, nieces, relations, neighbours and large circle of friends.
Noel was a successful rower and coach with Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club and Vesta Rowing Club, but is best remembered for his time with Thames Rowing Club where he played a key role in the development of the women’s squad; particularly coaching amongst others, his daughters Bernadette and Caroline to many national successes and to seventh place for Great Britain at the World Rowing Championships held in Munich in 1981. He also coached the Great Britain women’s eight to a fifth place finish at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Reposing in O’ Connor’s Funeral Home, Kenmare on Friday, October 25th from 5.30pm to 7.00pm followed by removal to St. Michael’s Church, Sneem arriving at 7.45pm approx.
Requiem Mass will take place in St. Michael’s Church, Sneem on Saturday, October 26th, at 10.30am followed by cremation in the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork at 2.00pm.
