CUBC mourns Dr. Tim Senior

The Members of Cambridge University Boat Club are greatly saddened by the sudden passing of Dr Tim Senior, BRCL Chair and alumnus of St Catharine’s Cambridge, after racing at Henley Fours and Eights Head on Saturday 11 February 2023.

Tim was appointed Chair of BRCL, the Boat Race Company, in April 2021 and had an immediate impact, he was instrumental in securing a new title partnership with Gemini and in returning the Boat Race to the Championship Course post-pandemic in 2022.

He learnt to row at Nottingham University and competed for St Catharine’s College BC in the Lents and Mays in 1994 whilst studying for an MPhil, before completing a DPhil in Economics and an MBA at Oxford University. Tim continued to enjoy his rowing at London Rowing Club and more recently at Upper Thames Rowing Club where he competed in the Thames Cup, at Henley Royal Regatta, in 2021.

Tim will be mourned by rowing friends across the country. He leaves behind his wife and three children to whom we send our deepest condolences.
