CUBC condemns the military invasion of Ukraine by Russia and Belarus and abhors the violation of their country, their cities, homes and lives that has left them in such grave danger. It is unimaginable that such atrocities could take place in Europe at this time. Our hearts are with the Ukrainian people in their fight for freedom and especially for those in education and those from the Ukrainian rowing family, with whom we have so much in common. We are also keeping in our thoughts our alumni and staff who are impacted by this war in some way.
CUBC supports the statements made by the Vice Chancellor of our University and by British Rowing and encourages anyone from our community who can to support however they feel is most appropriate using the links and suggestions on the Ukrainian Institute of London’s website. The University of Cambridge will also be inviting alumni to contribute to a hardship fund for students affected by the war and details will be published on its website soon.
