The highlight of the weekend’s performances was Gemma King’s win in the 1x on Sunday, but medal performances were recorded on Saturday by
Freya Keto – silver in Champ W1x in her second regatta in the 1x, and is looking forward to the Princes Royal Challenge Cup.
Under sunny skies at Eton Dorney, CUBC athletes set out their stalls for Henley qualification with some excellent performances in this weekend’s Met Regatta.
Caoimhe Dempsey and Isabel Bastian – silver in Champ W2-
Molly Foxell and Gemma King – Bronze in Champ W2-
Both these pairs will race in the Hambleden Challenge Pairs at Henley.
CUBC lightweight women took 6th [Lisi-Vega and Hempson] and 8th in Champ W2- [Britten and Merrifield], whilst the Club’s PA entry took 8th in Champ 4+, with a time that would have placed them 5th in the A-Final and were the 4th fastest University crew.
The Club’s Temple entry, made of 7 members of the winning Lightweight Boat Races Boat, along with former lightweights Orlando Morley and Cameron Mackenzie placed 14th overall, and was the 4th eligible University crew.
2023 Blue Matt Edge continued his campaign for the Diamonds, placing 17th in Champ 1x.
