CUBC’s open crews turned in excellent performances on the Henley reach on Saturday, setting themselves up for Sunday’s finals.
Princess Royal Challenge Cup
Imogen Grant took on NZ Olympic gold medallist Lucy Spoors into a pounding headwind and rain, and made short work of her competition and the weather. Although giving up size on her opponent, the result was never in doubt, Grant running out with an ‘easily’ verdict to set herself up for a final berth against the USA’s Kara Kohler.

Silver Goblets and Nickalls Challenge Cup
In a race greatly anticipated by the CUBC pair, George and Wynne Griffith were challenged off the start by Bugajski and Glenister but had taken control of the race by Remenham, and eased down through the enclosure to win by 1.5 lengths.
