CUBC results at Henley Friday, Timetable for Saturday 1st July

Henley Friday produced some strong performances from CUBC crews, with a number progressing to Saturday’s semi-finals.

Sarah Portsmouth’s crew in the Town Challenge Cup suffered a 1 length defeat to Sydney Rowing Club and ASR Nereus in the fastest and closest heat of that category. We wish Sarah all the best for her U23 trialling.

CUBC’s entry in the Visitors’ Challenge Cup, including U23 triallists Ollie Parish and Luca Ferraro, also suffered defeat, going down to Leander and Thames, a crew which featured the son of CUBC chair Annamarie Phelps.

Visitors’ racing will be updated when made available by HRR.

In the open events, CUBC crews won both races they competed in.

Blue Boat stroke Imogen Grant took a strong victory over Tabea Schenkendahl of the USA, setting herself for a showdown with New Zealand Olympian Lucy Spoors in the semi-final.
