n a challenging race on calm waters on the Thames, Burpees defeated Mr. Sleepy by 3 lengths over the Tideway course. Burpees, coxed by Ollie Boyne and stroked by Ollie Parish, took the lead at the end of the Surrey bend and drew away to clear water by Hammersmith. Mr. Sleepy, coxed by President Charlie Marcus and stroked by Olympian Tom George was not to be denied, pushing back but unable to make an impact on their opposition.
After the race, Chief Coach Rob Baker said, “we had some good racing out there, and I was particularly impressed by our winning boat reading the race and making the winning move”.
