CUBC Development Squad races at Kingston Regatta

In the finale of their program, CUBC’s Women’s Development Squad, led by Blondie coach Autumn Mantell raced this weekend at Kingston Regatta.

In their first race of the day, the two CUBC coxed 4s were drawn against each other, with the 4 stroked by Molly Foxell taking the win by 1.5 lengths over the Carys Earl-stroked boat with Twickenham a further three lengths in arrears.

Lucy Havard and Bethany Merrifield were not so successful, sculling to a 3rd place in their heat and not progressing to the final.

The Development Squad 8 met with a tough draw, losing a close heat to Kingston Rowing Club by a length. Kingston went on to win their final by 2 lengths.

The day concluded with Gemma King, of Blondie and Lightweight squads, winning the W1x by 4 lengths.

Well done especially to the Development Squad athletes, who will make a key contribution to the 2023 Boat Races Squad.
