Racing at the Met

Cambridge, 31st May.  Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club (CUWBC) will be racing three crews at the Metropolitan Regatta on the second day of the regatta on Sunday, 2  June at Eton Dorney.

Coach Weber said: “The Met is one of oldest regattas and is now a very large  international regatta in its own right. All of the crews racing at Dorney on Sunday have not stopped training since the Boat Races.  These crews will also all be part of our squad who have Women’s Henley Regatta in their sights.  The Met is an important stepping stone to Henley”

The crews selected for the race are as below:

Women’s Championship 2-

Pippa Whittaker (Christ’s)

Tricia Smith (Christ’s)

Women’s Championship 1x

Abigail Parker (Emmanuel)

Women’s Lwt 1x

Lucy Harris (Queen’s)

The Championship Pair of Pippa and Trish, Gold Medallists at BUCS in Champ 2-, face 11 crews in their boat class as does outgoing President Abba in the Championship Single.  Lucy, in the Lightweight Single, has 17 other competitors to battle with.
