Quintin Head 25th January

After a successful training camp and with the academic term well underway the squad are ready to race against some of the best crews in the country! Quintin Head is one of the biggest events held along the Tideway and marks the start of the winter racing season.

Recent rain has meant many races around the country have been cancelled, so many clubs are looking forward to blowing the January cobwebs away in this race which takes place along a section of the Championship Course.  The first crews will start racing at 12:15 from Hammersmith Bridge and cross the line some way past Chiswick Bridge at Chiswick Staith.

Chief Coach Robert Weber says,

“We’re looking forward to this first race of the term as we head into the final weeks of Boat Race preparation. It’s a chance to race over a good portion of the Championship

Course and test our race plan. Our goals are to stay internal, execute specific elements of our race plan, focus on technical fundamentals we’ve been working on, and take away lessons we can apply to the next stretch of training as we build toward being the best we can be on Boat Race day.”

The crews racing contain representatives from 15 different colleges. To find out more details about our squad go to our 2020 Squad Page.
