Pots and points at Kingston

On one of the hottest days of the year, CUWBC braved sweltering temperatures and tumultuous wash to bring home a record haul from Kingston Regatta.
The day got off to a great start, with wins in the morning for Claire Watkins in the W.Nov.1x, Fay Sandford and Holly Game in the W.IM3.2x, and the Dev Squad W.IM3.4+, W.Nov.8+, and W.IM2.8+ (in which it was a Cambridge/Cambridge final!). Over lunchtime, the Diamond Jubilee Sprints Eight, made up of a mix of returners and dev squadders, stormed to victory, taking home the much-coveted 2-pint tankards.
The afternoon brought further success, with a win in the W.IM3.8+ final – another Cambridge/Cambridge affair, although mention must be given to our other rivals, Twickenham, who snatched the Victor Ludorum from under our noses at the last moment.
The whole squad thoroughly enjoyed the day, and everyone felt that they gained some valuable racing experience, as well as lots of points and pots! Roll on Molesey…
