Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club has qualified a composite crew for the Princess Grace Challenge Cup (Women’s Quadruple Sculls) at the 2016 Henley Royal Regatta.
The crew raced at the Qualifying races on Friday 24 June and were one of the five to qualify out of eighteen entries.
The composite crew contains Myriam Goudet (Lucy Cavendish) who rowed in the 2016 Blue Boat and went on to win elite pairs at the Metropolitan Regatta and make the final of the same event at Henley Women’s Regatta.
Also in the crew is U23 World Bronze medalist, Holly Hill who was a member of the 2015 Blue Boat and will be rejoining CUWBC for the 2017 Boat Race campaign.
They are joined by Georgia Francis (Imperial College BC) and Lucy Burgess (Northwich RC) both of whom have a wealth of experience including having represented Great Britain at both the World U23 and World Junior Rowing Championships.
The crew have been drawn against the University of London BC in the first round and will begin their racing on Thursday 30 July.
In addition, CUWBC member Melissa Wilson (Blue Boat 2013, ’14 & ’15) will join GB Rowing Team colleagues from Reading and Leander in a further composite crew which will race in the same event.
