Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club is pleased to announce the 3 crews that will complete at the 2016 Henley Women’s Regatta which will be held on 17 – 19 June in Henley-Upon-Thames.
The Regatta which is titled ‘the premier rowing regatta for women in the UK’ has seen a record breaking entry with 435 entries from across the world including the USA, Netherlands, Canada, France, Norway, Israel and Singapore.
Following their recent win in Elite pairs at the Metropolitan Regatta and their silver medal at the BUCS Regatta in May, Hannah Roberts (Jesus) and Myriam Goudet (Lucy Cavendish) will race in the Elite Pairs event for the Redgrave Challenge Vase. The duo will start their racing at 12:13 on Saturday when they face Exeter University.
Imogen Grant (Trinity) and Ellie Hopgood (Girton) picked up 2 medals at the BUCS Regatta, and have been training hard in the lightweight pair since then. They will compete for the Parkside Trophy at Henley Women’s and face Oxford University Lightweight Women in the first round at 10:35 on Sunday.
Melissa Wilson (Blue Boat 2013, 2014, 2015) has been training with the GB Rowing Team Senior Squad this season but will don her light blue racing strip to represent CUWBC in the Elite Single Sculls for the George Innes Cup. Melissa has drawn a ‘bye’ for the first round and will start her racing at 13:08 on Sunday against either Limbrick of Tideway Scullers School UK, or Kolovson of the University of Massachusetts USA.
