Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club (CUWBC) will field seven crews at the Fours Head of the River tomorrow (Saturday 12 November). The event is raced over a 4 ¼ mile course between Morlake and Putney, the reverse of the Boat Races course. 3 coxless crews and 4 coxed boats are entered in the Elite categories, racing against clubs and universities from across the country.
‘CUW I’ features Melissa Wilson, Holly Hill and Alice White who all finished in the top 10 of the GB Rowing Team Assessment last week, they are joined by French teammate Myriam Goudet who brings experience of steering the Tideway course having previously rowed at Imperial College Boat Club. 3 of this crew won Gold at the British Rowing Senior Championships earlier this season, and they will be looking to continue to impress.
The bronze medal winning four from the British Rowing Championships remains unchanged (CUW II), and will be steered over the course by Imogen Grant who started rowing at Cambridge’s First and Third Trinity Boat Club in 2014 and was the top U23 sculler at last weekend’s GB Rowing Team Assessment
‘CUW III’ contains 3 of the crew that won the B-final at the British Rowing Championships and they are joined by Olivia Jamrog who has come to Cambridge from Michigan State, USA and brings experience from the 2015 World Rowing U23 Championships.
The Coxed crews include several returners from the 2015 and 2016 Blue Boats and the victorious 2016 reserve boat, Blondie. Claire Lambe will make her debut for Cambridge, racing in ‘CUW V’ having represented Ireland at the Rio Olympic Games earlier this year.
