Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club (CUWBC) are looking to retain the title of the fastest women’s crew at Quintin Head tomorrow (Saturday 27 January) when they race on the Tideway for the first of many times this year. The event marks the start of a busy few months for the Club leading up the Cancer Research UK Boat Races on Saturday 24th March 2018.
In 2017, CUWBC fielded the fastest Women’s Eight at Quintin Head and this year will be looking to fight off competition from the University of London, Molesey, and Thames RC to repeat that success.
The club will field two eights to compete against other universities and open clubs from across the country. The crews will race over a section of the Boat Race course starting at the University Post (The Boat Race finish line) and racing to Harrods Depositry. The race starts at 11:30am.
The CUWBC boats for Quintin Head have been formed following a successful training camp in Banyoles, Spain. They are entered in Elite (crew #51) and Senior (crew #55). The crews selected are below:
