Cambridge University Women’s Boat Club will field 7 crews at the Fours’ Head of the River Race tomorrow. The race is contested over the reverse of the Boat Race Course, 4 ¼ miles from Mortlake to Putney.
The Club has selected a lightweight quad, 2 openweight coxless fours and 4 openweight coxed fours for this year’s event which features crews from universities, clubs and schools across the country including many of the GB National Squad.
In 2016, CUWBC fielded the fastest coxless four of the event, winning the elite category. Alice White (Homerton) and Myriam Goudet (Lucy Cavendish) will return to different crews this year. The result from last year means that CUWBC will lead the women’s coxless fours off in tomorrow’s race.
Imogen Grant who will steer the crew said:
“This will be my third time steering the Fours’ Head and it’s always a great race. We haven’t had a long time together as a crew, but we’ve made the most of every outing and we’re really pumped to see what we can do tomorrow!”
