Wednesday November 2nd 2016 The Pavilion, Wilberforce Rd 7- 9:30pm
At CUWBC we know the very important role that parents and family play in supporting our young team of rowers as we try to work with each student athlete to combine academic and sporting excellence at. We are delighted to welcome Eira Parry, a highly experienced coach and speaker for an evening where she will be able share her expertise for parents of young athletes.
Eira Parry founded High Performance Parenting in 2014, following a long and successful career in rowing coaching and teaching. Whilst working with British Rowing, she worked with many of the sport’s household names such as double Olympic Champions, Helen Glover and Heather Stanning, and Olympic silver medallist Olivia Carnegie-Brown. During this time, Eira realised what a commitment sport can be for the whole family, and how overwhelming the ups and downs can be for athletes, but also for their parents. Despite this, there seemed to be little in the way of support for parents in their many roles – hence, the next chapter began and High Performance Parenting was born.
The Cambridge University Track at Wilberforce Road provides good access and free parking. We shall be serving refreshments throughout the evening and it promises to be an interesting and informative event.
Tickets can be booked for this event via Eira’s website.
